Hi and welcome to 3DCoatPrint!
Please, note, the program is completely free for any, including commercial, use if the 3D models you create are intended to be 3D-Printed or for the creation of rendered images. Other uses may only be for personal non-profit activity.
3DCoatPrint has the fully functional sculpting and rendering toolset of 3DCoat. There are only two basic limitations applying at the time of Export: the models are reduced to the maximum of 40K triangles and the mesh is smoothed specifically for 3D-Printing. The Voxel modeling approach is unique - you can quickly create models without any topological constraints.
I (Andrew Shpagin, the main 3DCoat developer) like printing a lot and often print something for home use and just as a hobby. Therefore, I decided to publish this Free version so that everyone could use it as well. From my personal experience the 40K limitation is quite enough for hobby purposes.
On a separate note, 3DCoatPrint is well suitable for kids to learn 3DCoat, it has a simplified UI. But for serious prototyping, if this detailing level is not enough, you'd need to buy a 3DCoat license with the full toolset inside.
Important warning! Heating up ABS plastic (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) at the time of extrusion in 3D printing produces fumes of poisonous butadiene which is a human carcinogen (EPA classified). That is why we recommend using PLA bioplastic produced from corn or dextrose.
SLA printers use toxic resin and have an ultraviolet laser which is harmful to the eyes. Avoid looking at a running printer or cover it with a cloth.
Wear protective gloves/clothing/glasses/masks and use good ventilation with any 3D printer. Avoid staying in the same room with a working printer.
